Northern Saltivka is one of the largest residential areas of Kharkiv. Before the war, 400 thousand people lived here. The Russian army shelled Saltivka since the first days of the war.
On February 24, people ran out of their homes to the sounds of explosions. with no belongings collected and not knowing where to hide, they hid in basements and subway stations. They lived there for 3 months until the Ukrainian army managed to push the occupiers away from Kharkiv.
